After many successful years in the International markets of Dry Cargo Chartering and Sale & Purchase, in September 2005, Optima established the Tanker Chartering division.

Consisting of young but experienced brokers, the tanker chartering achieved, during a short period of time, to evolve into one of the most high-targeting departments on a global level.

Being based in Greece, which has been the cornerstone of maritime activities for centuries, Tanker Chartering was given the privilege and the comparative advantage of understanding and analyzing the needs of this industry. Furthermore, the close cooperation with Optima’s Offices in Shanghai, Dubai, Singapore and Rio de Janeiro, tanker chartering has evolved as a link between local clients and global tanker markets.

Optima’s Tanker Chartering Department is divided into two segments:

• The Dirty Petroleum Products (DPP) desk, specialized in crude and fuel oil transportation, covering the whole range of vessel sizes (from small tankers up to VLCCs), and
• The Clean Petroleum Products (CPP) desk which deals with refined oil products, as well as, chemical products.

Both desks handle all aspects of spot chartering, projects and Contracts of Affreightment.
